Still in Lovina. Yesterday we found out that we are staying on the far outskirts of Lovina, in what is very likely to be the best hotel in town, Aditya. The grounds are kept beautiful by a large team of friendly groundskeepers who all delight in supplying wayan and niels with fresh young coconuts. Niels hatched a plan to take a coconut back to beaux arts, plant it and have a coconut tree. Wendy asked how he'd carry it home "In your backpack?" Niels thought it'd be better to hide it under his shirt (I've got a coconut in my tummy!"
Also employed is a large security staff that is up at all hours. Notable amongst the security staff is Wardika, the current reigning Mr Bali, who spends his small salary on protein supplements. Hes about 5'2", but hes HUGE. Good English, and when I shook his hand he was super gentle.
It was a bit of a shock to ride the bemo into town. The number of buildings remained constant, then there was a slightly busy area. We waited while the bemo drove on, into town proper but whoops, then there was farmland and we were on the road to singaraja.
Singaraja is a proper town, thousands of shops instead of less than 100. First we found wayan a new pair of shoes, since he's outgrown his old ones.
