The beach: 10-15 meters off the beach the reef can be seen clearly through the waves, and I’m sure the rocky outcrops at either end of the beach are good for snorkeling as well. There are also several excellent spots within 2-3 km of the beach.

There are two Coral View hotels, I think with the same owner, and the one to the west is rundown and kind of scary, the one to the east is nice, and is where we stayed with ocean view. Ours was called “Coral View Villas”, the other was called “Coral View Cottages.” Our hotel had an unusual pool, full-on Jurassic park, with moulded cement waterfall. Negatives were: Too Deep for wayan everywhere except the single set of steps. Cold. Dirty. Waterfall had a two-level effect, was fun for wayan to swim around and under. Would be terrific if it was warm, instead of cold pouring rain and windy. Good weather for hot cocoa.

Walking around outside of town we see big rock farms with a few goats, then a super-deluxe seaside villa with sat-dish. Then a straw shack with a broken bicycle, a goat tethered beside it.
